Acid Alcohol is used in histology and cytology to remove excess stain and define nuclei following hematoxylin staining in the H&E and PAP methods. In order to produce a good H&E stain with crisp nuclear detail, it is critical that certain Hematoxylins are differentiated correctly, making Acid Alcohol a highly effective solution. Available with 1% or 0.5% hydrochloric acid in 70% reagent grade alcohol, this Acid Alcohol can greatly improve reproducibility of staining results and help achieve standardization.

Kit contains:Solution A - Phosphomolybdic Acid (500mL), 12026-57-2, MFCD00011341 Solution B - Picrosirius Red F3BA Stain (250ml or 500ml) Solution C - 0.1 N Hydrochloride Acid (500mL0, 7647-01-0, MFCD00011324 Picrosirius Red Stain binds specifically to collagen fibrils of varying diameter that is used to distinguish collagen Type I from Type III. Picrosirius Red Stain will quantify the amount of collagen in a given area of myocardial tissue. Picrosirius Red staining is also useful in the quantitative aspect of liver fibrosis by measuring a change in collagen proportion stained as red. The 250 ml kit stains up to 100 slides; 500 ml kit stains up to 200 slides.

Newcomer Supply Schiff Reagent, McManus a crucial element in the Periodic Acid Schiff (PAS) Stain and for staining glycoproteins, epithelial mucins, basement membranes and fungal cell walls. Schiff Reagent, McManus is used in a variety of staining procedures that include: PAS with and without diastase, Alcian Blue/PAS for mucins, PAS/Light Green for Fungus, Feulgen Reaction for demonstration of DNA. Newcomer Supply Schiff Reagent, McManus, a crucial element in the Fungus, PAS/Light Green procedure, is also used for staining fungus and glycogen in tissue sections. Schiff Reagent, McManus is a stable and reliable product that is conveniently stored at room temperature for ready-to-use staining. Although initially colorless, Schiff Reagent, McManus when in direct contact with skin, clothing, countertops, floors and other surfaces, will react and leave a bright magenta stain that is difficult to remove. Shelf Life is 1 year from date of manufacture. Store at 15-30°C.
